Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis (1st May 2026) – On 29 April 2026, the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs et al, held fruitful dialogue with His Excellency Ciro Luciano Ciliberto Infante, Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The meeting began with an exchange of courtesies, during which Foreign Minister Douglas welcomed Ambassador Ciliberto and expressed appreciation for his visit. He then noted that the engagement reflected the continued consolidation of relations between Saint Kitts and Nevis and Argentina and acknowledged Argentina’s ongoing commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Minister Douglas also highlighted the range of cooperation initiatives that Argentina has offered and continues to advance, particularly in areas of practical benefit to nationals of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Ambassador Ciliberto likewise gave insight into the longstanding relationship between both countries and provided an update on forthcoming projects that Argentina intends to launch in Saint Kitts and Nevis. These initiatives, which fall under the API Caribe framework, are expected to support cooperation in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.
The discussion also provided an opportunity to exchange views on multilateral matters of mutual interest, including areas of shared priority within the wider international agenda.
As a result of this meeting, the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis looks forward to engagement with Argentina, given the identification of cooperation initiatives that can contribute to national development priorities, including the strengthening of the agricultural sector and other important areas.
