New York, New York, (Permanent Mission of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations) (August 19, 2026) – Last Friday, the Permanent Mission of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations welcomed the Honourable Garth Wilkin, Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, and Mrs. Velda Irish Browne, Deputy Comptroller of the St. Christopher and Nevis Inland Revenue Department, during a courtesy visit to the Mission in New York.

The visit followed their participation in the Fifth Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee on the United Nations Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation at United Nations Headquarters.

Welcomed by Her Excellency Dr. Mutryce Agatha Williams, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations, and members of the Mission, the delegation engaged in focused discussions on international tax cooperation and issues of importance to the Federation.

The discussions highlighted the critical importance of close coordination between St. Kitts and Nevis’ national institutions and its Permanent Mission in New York. Such collaboration strengthens the Federation’s ability to advance its national interests, contribute effectively to global policy discussions and ensure that its priorities are represented on the international stage.

Ambassador Williams reaffirmed the Mission’s commitment to serving as a strong bridge between the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis and the United Nations system, while supporting national stakeholders in advancing the Federation’s interests.

The Permanent Mission extends its sincere appreciation to the Attorney General and the Deputy Comptroller for their visit and for the valuable insights shared during the engagement. Their perspectives and expertise contributed meaningfully to the discussions and will be instrumental in strengthening coordination and informing the Federation’s continued engagement on international tax cooperation and other matters of global importance.
